Mental Health & Wellbeing Event 2019

The Tower Hamlets Inter Faith Forum hosted an event at St John on Bethnal Green on the afternoon of Thursday 13 June, 2019.

The aim of the event was to highlight the broad range of help on offer to local residents that encounter mental health and wellbeing issues.    Various faith, community and statutory organisations from Tower Hamlets hosted stalls in the church, including Tower Hamlets Recovery College, Good Shepherd Mission, Ability Bow, Thai Boxing Academy, RESET, Pathways, Step Forward and Tower Hamlets GP Care Group.

Over eighty people attended the open door event despite the very wet weather!  Attendees enjoyed some delicious freshly baked cake, provided by local cafe Munch Munch and then browsed the stalls to find out about the different types of help and support that the groups offer to those facing mental health or wellbeing concerns.  Attendees were also treated to free fifteen-minute reflexology or shoulder massages by staff from Pathways.

Everyone left supplied with a THIFF goodie bag and plenty of information on the wealth of advice and assistance that is on offer in the borough.    Our next event will take place in November to mark Inter Faith Week – make sure that you are signed up to our mailing list to receive updates!
