DESCRIPTION:Tower Hamlets is the 10th most deprived local authority in Engl
 and and has the highest rate of pensioner poverty in England and the highe
 st rate of child poverty in the UK. However\, there are many faith and com
 munity groups in Tower Hamlets that are trying to tackle the complex issue
 s that cause poverty\, to ease the problems that arise and to help people 
 navigate their way out of poverty.\n\nSpeakers:\n\n 	Denise Brewster (Quak
 er Social Action). Denise will be speaking about the Down to Earth and Mad
 e of Money projects run by QSA\, who are based in Tower Hamlets.\n 	Elizab
 eth Marshall (Bow Foodbank)\, on about food poverty in the area and the wo
 rk of the foodbank that operates at St Mary's Church.\n 	Met Police with o
 ur standing item of 'faith hate crime statistics.'\n\nCome along and join 
 the discussion - how can faith and community groups work to end poverty? H
 ow can they work with statutory services to fight poverty? Can we do more 
 to help people get out of poverty?\n\nThe meeting is also a great way to s
 hare information about projects or events that you may have on the horizon
