Barts Health NHS Trust: Sending a Message to a Loved One

May 1, 2020

Barts Health NHS Trust acknowledge that it is a worrying time for everyone at present, especially for those with a friend or relative in hospital, with visitor restrictions in place across the hospitals.

Speaking to someone about your relatives care

The Trust ask that you do not call the hospital about your loved ones care. Their medical teams will always ensure the next of kin is informed, if any developments – you will not receive a call each day.

Communicating with your loved one

The Trust encourage the use of personal mobile phones and tablets to stay in contact with your relative, whilst they are in hospital. If your relative does not have their own device they may be able to supply one.

You can also send messages and photos to your loved ones by using an online form. All responses will be printed off and shared each day.  This is a great way to let your loved one know you’re thinking of them.

Coming soon!

The Trust are testing the use of tablet devices for virtual visiting. This is being made available across wards, and they hope to share some more information soon.
