Bringing communities together across Tower Hamlets
The Tower Hamlets Inter Faith Forum (THIFF) brings together faith communities, residents, community organisations and public services to promote understanding, cooperation and community cohesion.
During 2025–2026, THIFF continued to grow as a trusted voice for faith communities and an important bridge between residents, organisations and local decision-makers.
A year of community engagement
THIFF held four Forum meetings exploring key local issues including food insecurity, English language learning, SEND support, and community engagement and consultation.
Its major Inter Faith Week event focused on housing insecurity, bringing together more than 60 people to explore the challenges facing local residents and the role faith communities can play in providing support.
Working together
THIFF worked with at least 84 organisations and networks across the faith, public, health, education and community sectors.
Through these partnerships, THIFF contributed to work on community cohesion, equalities, health inequalities, housing, emergency resilience and community safety.
THIFF also continued to provide practical resources, including its Inter Faith Calendar, Faith Directory and Faith Map, helping residents and organisations connect with the borough’s diverse faith communities.
Looking ahead
In 2026–2027, THIFF will continue to bring communities together, strengthen partnerships and ensure faith voices are represented in local discussions.
A key priority will be refreshing THIFF’s vision and manifesto to reflect the changing needs and experiences of Tower Hamlets. The Forum will also continue supporting Inter Faith Week, Holocaust Memorial Day and other community events.
