Happy New Year from Tower Hamlets Inter Faith Forum

Happy New Year from the THIFF team! We look forward 2025, working together to celebrate and highlight the important work of faith communities in our borough.

Join is for our first forum meeting of the year, taking place from 6-8pm, Monday 20 January 2025, at Ogilvie Community Hall, Stepney Causeway, London E1. See below for full details

Emergency Resilience in Tower Hamlets

We are working with other Equality Hubs, THCVS and the Volunteer Centre to map how local community and faith settings can be prepared to respond in the event of an emergency. The project looks at:

  • How messaging should be distributed to settings in the event of an emergency
  • Places and spaces that can be utilised in an emergency, for example for storing donated goods, or as rest centres for frontline workers.
  • Existing good practice from local settings in previous emergency situations

It is vital that the voices of places of worship and faith based organisations are involved in this project. Please do join us to help communicate the work that the faith sector already does and how this work can join up with other services and organisations.

What Matters to You for 2025?

As we begin a new year, we want you to tell us what matters to you, and what you would like us to focus on in the year ahead.

  • What are your biggest concerns?
  • Do you want to see changes in your local area?
  • What local issues do you want to know more about?

We will have our standing item of a hate crime update from Met Police, and an update of the work of THIFF over the past month, along with refreshments, and time for networking.

Reserve your space here!
